HEALTH INITIATIVES ASSOCIATION

The Health Initiatives Association (HIA) in Uganda is a non-governmental non-profit organization with a clear vision, mission and goals. HIA operates mainly in Buikwe County in central Uganda. Our goal is to provide quality health care, support education and other social services for the sustainable development of the local community.

The center of our activities is the HIV Clinic of John Paul II in the village of Lubanyi near the town of Buikwe. It is known mainly as a specialized clinic for HIV-positive children and their families. The important fact is that this care is provided completely free of charge. The health services of the HIV outpatient clinic and the general practitioner’s outpatient clinic, together with health education, educational support, social programs and spiritual support, are works like puzzle of holistic care.

Precisely due to the high quality and availability of services, the number of patients at the Clinic of John Paul II. is constantly growing. We are expanding the range of services provided and trying to meet the most pressing issues of the local community. This, of course, goes hand in hand with a growing budget and the need to identify new partners.
